The new definition of exhausted

I am so very tired.  If you have been reading my blog lately (all 3 of you...thank you!) then you know that a person I am close to is going through a rough patch in her marriage.  Well, if you have been married for any length of time past the honeymoon stage (again all 3 of my readers) then you also know that parenting styles are often correlated to your emotional well-being or lack there of.  My friend is struggling in her relationship and it is sucking the life/happy/energy/joy/strength right out of her.  Therefore she is struggling with her 4 kids.  Makes perfect sense to me.  Long story-short version:  I kicked her out of her own home.  Said go visit somebody, get out!  To my surprise; she actually did.  She called me a few hours after we had this conversation and said, "I booked my flight.  Be home in 9 days."
So, technically that should'nt be in quotes but holy crap!  That is how it seemed.

Here comes the exhausted part.  Are you ready for some basic Tia-math?

Tia's kids        2
Her kids         4

6 kids ranging in age from 20 months to 14 years.  I am so tired.  The baby wakes around 6:30 EVERY MORNING!  I don't generally start hitting the snooze button til 7.  He needs to be changed (ewww) and the sheets have to be stripped from his crib cuz he is a leaker.  By this time the other kids are wandering around doing their morning rituals.  Did I mention that my friend lives with her mother and her mothers 2 daughters?  So there are between 6-10 people trying to inject drink coffee, make breakfast, search for school bags, find missing socks, and play with the adorable moppet aka Kiwi aka the 20 month old.  I have to be out of the house no later than 8am if I am going to make it across town to my place to feed the cats, change their litter boxes and drop my kids off at their school before heading to my own classes.  Did I mention she also has 4 dogs living in her home?

This is just the mornings.  I am not a morning person.  As far as I am concerned nothing should open before 10 am.  But just so that it doesn't seem we didn't also have a blast.  Here are some pictures of the Easter festivities we had.  (Another bonus: her stove died the 1st day I was here so we have been preparing meals on the grill or in the crockpot this whole week---I was practically a Pioneer woman)  :)  Clarification:  my other sister came over in the afternoon/evenings so I could escape/study/take a sanity break and she was in charge of dinner & dishes.  We make a great tag-team!

I can't wait to go home tonight and spend some quality time with my DVR kids.  We all get to sleep in our own beds.  :)
